Schools
"We fix the school, we fix the world, we spread the word so everyone can hear...Go WitKids!"
Michael R. 4th grade
What makes WitKids different? We ask kids, “How do YOU want to make your school, community, and the world better?” Then we help them turn their answers into reality. The kids are the leaders from start to finish!
The idea for WitKids started years ago in an elementary school classroom when Miss H grabbed some paint and painted “Whatever It Takes!” on butcher paper. That banner hung above the whiteboard and it became the classroom motto. It was applied to everything they did. When Hurricane Katrina hit, they did their first “Whatever It Takes!” volunteer project. Since then over 1,000 kids have been involved in doing “Whatever It Takes!”.
In June 2009, Sarah Hernholm left teaching to focus full-time on starting the non-profit “WitKids- Whatever It Takes!”. WitKids volunteer projects are occurring locally, nationally and internationally. All over the world WitKids are showing that kids can make a difference!
